Resolve to be...

The greatest counsel my husband gave me in the last 10 years is to resolve to change. When I was struggling with my anger, he reminded me that, as an addict, I had shown the resolve to stop using drugs and alcohol. I could use that same determination (resolve...or maybe even stubbornness) to change my ways--to stop anger-outbursts.

This quarter has been about getting healthier through perseverance, love, and self-control.

How would you rate yourself on a scale of 1-10, 10 being high? What have you resolved to do different to be different? Please post:)...

Join me for Q2 if you want to get fit, get organized, and get inspired! We continue the journey!

Be encouraged,

Becky

  1. Resolved to change: key concept. When I joined this group June2009 I took everything Becky said to heart and resolved to change. I kept the change for a year and a half. Maintained the loss pounds, exercised regularly, said no to any thing white: flour, sugar. Sometime over the last couple of months I thought I didn't have to weigh in on Wednesdays, didn't have to be strict with my eating, could say yes to birthday cake. Well, I am up 5 pounds and seem to only walk when my buddy can walk with me.
I need a new resolve to stay the course. Looking forward to the next quarter of organization & fitness. I need to eat for health. My score 7 I have made progress in some areas and kept the change but my other areas mentioned need help. For those of you that are leaving the group thanks for being here this quarter your comments have inspired me. For the rest of you see you next quarter. Let us all be resolved to CHANGE.

  2. I'm with you Robbie.
Grrrre, I sit here every day and piddle too long in my office. Why? Because reading newsletters and emails is far more interesting than paying bills and doing marketing. I have to change this next quarter, getting out of the office to go do other things which yes, even includes exericse. My arthritis has been bothering me something awful lately and I need to get out and do some core exercise plus my walking so I dont stay so stiff and miserable.
    time to CHANGE. Amen>

  3. Resolved...man it is effective when it happens, but it is so hard to get there. I am convicted this week that I need to soak in the sun of god's forgiveness and truly accept it as the gift that can refresh me each day. To look at God as my healer who doesn't condone what has happened in my life, but also doesn't condemn me. He wants to use me in and because of my circumstances. I resolve to truly soak and bask in this truth...I am forgiven...go and sin no more..what a future that speaks of!

  4. Week 13: 7 of 7 and 91 of 91

    Resolve to Change!

This quarter has been a wonderful experience. The weekly calls and assignments have allowed me to move up the scale so that I believe I am ending at a higher level.

My resolve to balance my life personally and professionally has been supported by my very regular prayer and study. Indeed spiritual growth requries food from God's word.

As I prepare for the next quarter and my expectations for continued improvement, I am eager to share "We can't undo yesterday but we can act today to influence tomorrow."

  5. I too have learned so much from you Becky and this very honest and transparent group of women. Robbie, you are the light of Christ. Knowing that I have a sister in Christ that has many of the same things going on in her life that I do really helps me to know I am not alone in this. I have also learned that high value of thanking God for my good health every day - my husband has been sick now for 3 1/2 weeks including 1 week in the hospital.
I will resolve to carry my cross daily. And change my attitude toward him.
